All her work is made by hand using traditional techniques and equipment. After a drying out period they are bisq. fired. Each relief is then individually hand decorated using brushes, and sponges to apply layers of different coloured under glazes. The final glaze firing is to a temperature of 1250 degrees centigrade, this creates the wonderful rich diffusion of colours that so characterises Amanda-Jayne’s work. Most of her designs are inspired by natural forms such as seals, fish, etc… Each piece is unique and is sculpted with texture and are, for Amanda-Jayne, a celebration of form, material and mark making.’
